Installation problem with MS Golf

D

Dave

I am getting an error message trying to install MS Golf
2001 on Win XP Pro when I change the drive letter from the
default C: drive. I wish to use the F: drive for all game
installations. The F: drive is on the same physical disk
as the C: drive.

"The path you selected specifies an invalid drive or the
folder is invalid, incomplete, too long, or write-
protected. Enter a full path with the drive letter; for
example C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Golf
2001."

I have successfully installed AoE, AoE2, and AoM on the F:
drive.

Hi Dave,

Are you able to create that folder? If so, try installing to it
afterwards, ensuring of course that there's enough space
available on that partition, and that it's not set to read only.

Thanks for the reply Jimmy.

I did try creating the folder, but still no luck.

What I ended up doing was installing the game into the
recommended folder on the C: drive. I then copied the
folder to the desired location, changed the shortcut and
modified the registry entries to point to the new drive
letter.

Everything is working great now.

Thanks again,
Dave

That's the way to workaround that problem Dave.
It helps to know your way around the registry. d;^)

Jimmy.
