I have a new SATA HDD in my computer when I start the
installation of Windows XP and it asks to press F6 for
SCSI RAID or Third party driver should I press F6 or will
Windows XP automatically pick up my HDD. I did try to
press F6 once and it asked me for the driver I installed
the driver but once I have finished installing Windows XP
all my IDE devices such as my CD-RW and DVD-ROM is pick up
as SCSI and then I get very strange error messages when I
try to write CD's ? Can somebody please help me with this
problem ?

If the XP installation procedure fails to identify the SATA drive during
set-up then you *do* need to press F6 and introduce the necessary drivers.

It sounds like you may need to check your mainboard manual to ensure you
have identified any required BIOS settings.

In addition check the website of the mainboard manufacturer for BIOS updates
or any reported problems with SATA drives.

Hope that helps
