Serail ata - reboot failure during windows xp installation

O

ova

Hello all,

I'm experiencing problem during the installation of
Windows xp on my brand new PC...
-I start windows xp installation, press F6, insert disk
with serial ata driver (non raid), select the driver then
setup continues.... finally system restarts automatically
BUT does not boot on the HDD (so installation can not
continue)

HW:
Gigabyte 8KNXP v1.0
+ Maxtor DiamondMax Plus 9 120Gb
+ MSI FX5600-VTDR128

BIOS:6.00 PG

settings in bios are
Advanced BIOS features
--> SCSI/RAID Cntrl boot order= 1. Silicon image RAID
controller
--> First boot device: "floppy", 2d ="SCSI", third
= "CDRom" (this order is mention on gigabyte website for
SATA)

Integrated peripheral
on chip sata = auto
sata pot0 = SATA port0
sata raid function = disabled
onboard H/W sata = enabled
serial ata function = base

Sata drive is connected properly
CDrom is primary master
DVD is secundary master

Note: if I change sata port0 to IDe primary master then I
can install Windows XP.

Any suggestion?
Thanks
