Hi,

This probably is a dumb questions. However, I am planning to buy a new
system and install Windows XP on SATA 2 HDD. Do you suppose that Windows XP
installer would recognize the Sata 2 hard drive? Do I need to try this with
the "slipstreamed" version of Windows XP and SP2? Or install any drivers buy
pressing F6 at Windows Installation?

Please let me know

regards
Baliga

Most modern motherboards will let you install SATA or SATA2 drive using IDE
emulation mode and won't need seperate SATA drivers, however if you intend
to use RAID then it will require extra drivers.

It depends on the controller whether you have to use F6 on not.
