Installation Freezes

Have tried installing defender a few times now and weeks in between and have
had no luck since the installation freezes on this screen:

Please wait while the installation wizard installs Windows Defender. This
may take several minutes.

status:

am able to cancel and click ok but the screen still remains

One thing to try is disabling real-time protection in your anti-virus app
for the duration of the install. If this helps, you might post back the
name of the antivirus.
