Installation error while installing the compactframeworkSP1

Hello All,

I have downloaded the compactframeworkSP1 from the microsoft site.

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...A3-7282-4BA9-B26B-2267E972501D&displaylang=en

While trying to install it on Windows xp or windows 2000 it is giving following error -

This installation package could not be opened. Contact the application vendor to verify that this is a valid Windows Installation Package.

Also I checked the windows installer version.Its 2.0.
Can anybody tell me what may be the problem?

Make sure that you are not running the package directly from the web, but save it to the local hard drive first - in the web browser instead of Open choose Save

Yes I have saved it on the local machine and then tried to install.

The only other thing I could suggest is download it again, preferrably on another machine
