I am trying to install a copy of XP Pro with SP1 on a new hard drive. The
installation keeps going in circles without installing the operating system.
It goes through the setup portion of the installation, then re-boots and
goes right back to the set-up again. It never actually installs the OS.

Any ideas????

Are you removing the CD from the drive when told to do so? If not told then
when it says "Restarting in 15 seconds" remove it.

You may need to set the boot devices in BIOS - during a reboot when it says
"Press del to enter setup" (may be some other key depending on whose BIOS
you have" you will need to find and probably change the order of boot
devices.

Not enough info to really help you. Are you booting from the CD or running
setup from Windows. Is the XP Pro version a Retail or OEM?
