Install XP on new hard drive

I installed a new 22 gig hard drive and made 3, 66 gig partitions..the
first partition I want to install XP and get it set up to take over when
other drive fails...
MY bios is configured to boot with CD removable , then other hard drive,
which it does...I am wondering when I start to install a new version of XP
will I be allowed to select a destination ?
(Disc1..vol 1) is the one I want to install...this disc does not appear on
the boot sequence of the bios...
many thanks to all

You will need to remove your old drive when you do that

You installed a 22GB hard disk drive and made 3 66GB partitions?
You're hired.
Just on that ability alone - I could save hundreds of thousands of dollars
hiring you.

The only way to do what you want is to completely remove the old hard disk
drive, install Windows XP on the new hard drive (as the only drive in the
system) and then change the drive settings and put the old drive back in.
Then - if and when the old drive dies - you can change the drive settings
and boot off the newer drive. However - they will not be synched.

Now - if you meant you got a large hard disk drive... maybe a 200GB and
split it (for some reason) into three partitions of 66GB - then are you sure
your system BIOS is capable of seeing such a drive?

Yes , after booting from the CD ROM & the blue screen finish it dignositic .

Windows XP give you at this point alot of options:here are 3 you need them
1-Partitions you Hard Drive
2-Set an Active Partition
3-Format the partition the way uoy whant ( FAT ,NTFS ,Quick .....)
4-After the Installation started (Win XP )come to the Point that aske you
WHERE YOU WHANT (WIN XP) TO BE INSTALL here is the point you look for .
