Install Windows XPSP2
I have just re-installed windows XP onto an old computer which I’m going to
start using in the garage. The XP disc was bought before SP2 came out so
there for SP2 is not installed on the computer. I can remember the last time
I tried to download SP2 over the internet my computer froze and it took
several attempts for it to down load successfully. This time I would like to
down load from a disc if possible is there anywhere on this site where I can
download SP2.

Hi

You can download SP2, but will have to go to Windows Update for the more
recent Updates - it's a 266 MB download:

But you will still need to go to Windows Update to get the latest Security
patches.

This is a newsgroup actually.

The fastest way to get SP 2 is from Windows Update, which will download
only those parts of the service pack that apply to your computer. The
full service pack is much larger and will take considerably longer to
download. Nonetheless you can find it here: http://tinyurl.com/5bobl

You can also get the entire service pack on CD: http://tinyurl.com/6g675

No matter how you obtain SP 2, it only installs the portions of itself
that apply to your computer.
