Install- uninstall program does not work

Lately I am getting an error message when Im
trying to install or un-install some program, not all of them but with
some. When I try to install Window Defender I get a popup stating this
"Error.Invalid Drive:L:\ and the install stop. When I try to uninstall
Photoshop I get this message "Error 1327.Invalid Drive:L:\ and the
unistall stop but the program is install on Drive C. I did use an external
drive to transfer files, only document and video I did not install any
program on it and it was listed as Drive L but it is not pluged in anymore.
How can I fix this so Window does not search for a drive that does not exist
to install or unistall.

Run regedit.
Navigate to:
hkey_current_user\software\microsoft\windows\currentversion\explorer\user shell
folders
Change any instance of L:\ to %USERPROFILE%
