Install to a SATA hard drive?

G

Guy Bryan

Hello,

I have a new 120 GB Serial ATA hard drive that I want to
install Windows XP Pro on. I started the install in
Windows and rebooted to the DOS install program but it
could not see the drive. I am using a Syba 150R SATA
controller card. What can I do to complete the
installation?

In order to install on a serial ata drive you must
install the drivers during the winodws setup. To do this
download your controller card drivers to a floppy disk.
During the first few seconds of windows setup it will ask
you to press f6 for a raid or scsi driver. When you do
this setup will ask for the drivers. Follow the on screen
instructions and it should work.
