Hi, Im trying to Install new Win XP SR1a onto a new
Seagate 120 SATA drive hooked onto a new Asus P4S800D
Serial ATA enabled Mth Board - I have set up the drive
using the Seagate disk utility Disk Wizard - but the
install of XP stalls when it says it "cant find a hard
drive connected to the system" - any help would be
appreciated - thanks Mike

You'll have to read the ASUS User's Guide and set your BIOS
settings correctly for the SATA drive.

What you will need to do is have a disk with the drivers for the SATA
controller on them. When launching the Windows XP Setup, pay attention
to the bottom of the screen and when it says "Press F6 to install 3rd
party RAID drivers" you will need to do this. XP will work with SATA
but you need to provide drivers during setup to initialize the
controller in XP. XP does not have native SATA drivers.

Hope that helps.
