Could you tell me how a software (any software) is installed on XP ?
I would like to learn how but no material available.

I know of the install wizard that will show itself when I click the package,
but for example, how opera.exe is installed on Xp is just so beyond my
knowledge.

It is unclear exactly what you want to know. If you want general
programming information regarding how an install works, this is not the
correct venue. Since you can get to the Internet, use Google to search
for things like:

To get accurate search results, give some thought as to what you really
