Install server not responding

I cannot seem to uninstall/install any apps on win 2000 server sp4 getting
the error 'install server not responding' after about 20 minutes or so? plus
I cannot open my network places properties?

Hey KDE,
Frank L Here. I went to work today and uninstalled APC Powerchute software
from the W2L server /SP DC/AD. I now can open Network connections . I also
started the win installer app, it was on manual. I was then able to properly
install server client Antivirus software. All my control panels work, etc.
Damn APC crap.

I uninstalled APC and everything seems to work fine now?!? Cannot see the
correlation between SAV and APC but everything is now working, thanks for the
heads up.

Thanks for these posts. I had the same problem. Sure enough, APC 6.x was the offender. I followed the link in Frank's post for further details.
