Hello,

I am running XP Home, an upgrade from 98 which was an upgrade from 95. I am
purchasing a new HDD and would very much like to simply make my current HDD
a slave drive and start anew with the new drive. Can I install my upgrade
XP disc to the new drive and somehow point to the slave disk as evidence of
qualifying for an upgrade? I vaguely remember doing that at some point when
using 98. Not even positive I can find my 95 disc after all these years.

Any advice is appreciated.

Yes, there is a browse option during setup for a 'qualifying product'

Start setup from a cd boot, or it will upgrade the 98 drive. There is an
'Advanced' option to 'select, or create partitions
