install problem

when i go to install frontpage 2002 on my win98 machine, i
get an error. error 2328 an internal error has occured.
c:\windows\system\ds16gt.dll

i can't even get to first base with this program.

thanks steve, i did a windows update & intalled the latest
security patches, but there were no service packs to
update. i tried to install again and the same thing
happened. in addition to the error i posted it says
something about office xp. in fact it says "microsoft
office xp requires system components not detected on your
computer."

i have office 2000, but not xp. it doesn't say it
requires it either.

I'm stumped now, because I've never installed FP
on a 98 machine.
Went straight from FP98 on a 95 machine to FP2002
on a 2K Pro machine.
Maybe someone will pop in with the correct answer.

One thing you might try is downloading and installing the latest MDAC
(Microsoft Data Access Components) - I think this one 2.60.6526.3 is the
latest for Windows 98:

ds16gt.dll is a ODBC file associated w/ Microsoft Data Access Components

The latest for 98SE is 2.8, 98 first edition will also take this if it has
the y2k updates and upgraded IE. 2.6 was the last version for 95, and that
required the updated IE and y2k updates

it worked! i downloaded & installed the mdac patch that
kathleen suggested. the error didn't show up & i was able
to install frontpage. wow! you guys are great! this is
the first time i've used the newsgroup. i will be using
it again. thanks again!
