Install path and SP4?

When you install Windows, I believe there's a "path to install files",
that would either point to the CD-ROM drive or a network location in the
case of a network install. I believe this path will be used when
adding/removing Windows components (and probably 100 other things too).

If that's correct, here's the problem:

All my machines were built with unattend.txt from a folder called

\\server\win2k\sp3d

After I update them with SP4, they'll still be pointing to the above
location! But the above location is all SP3 stuff??

should have updated them with the same folder I think.
NFS & RIS should be setup on one of the same folders.
this would have let you change the content of what was in the folders.
NFS is a masked domain share, it can be anywhere on domain,
BUT if the path was once \\domain\server\RIS\
then you can change the path the PC's find the files at the above address.

Hi Benn,

I don't use RIS, I'm using "unattend.txt"

I've never looked at NFS, but I will if it's needed.

I guess I could update the registry (if I knew the key) after applying
each service pack.

All in all, this seems like a serious issue for network installs, I'm
surprised there are not more posts about it.
