Install fine but only safe mode will work

Here are my specs

ASUS A8N-SLI
Athlon64 3500
1 gig ram
Nvidia 6600 GT Video Card

Everything installs fine until the final reboot. Then blue screen of death
and reboot. The only way to boot is via safe mode.

In device manager, from safe mode, anything that does not have a good
driver, I disabled and I have removed every device from PCI slots and USB
ports.

Anyone else have this motherboard.......anyone else having issues.....any
advice...

It is also worth mentioning that all previous builds of vista worked without
any issues.

Hmm... bug this and check the manufacturers website in regard to Vista
support.

I'm having the exact same problem with a similar setup and Vista 64bit:

Abit AV8 socket 939
AMD Athlon64 3500+
BFG Geforce 6800 Ultra 256MB
2GB DDR PC3200
Soundblaster Audigy 2
Western Digital Raptor 74GB, 10,000RPM

The BSOD flashes too quickly to read the error message, will it be saved in
a log file somewhere?

Marc - you mentioned you tried multiple downloads, have you tested Vista x86
yet?

I am ALSO having the EXACT same problem, with the exception of only having
the standard VGA Graphics Adapter. Does anyone have any solutions? Also, is
there a way to go back to XP or uninstall Vista? I have the Vista Ultimate.
