Install directX 9b then All Gone!!

I wanted to capture some video so I installed directX 9b,
it went through the installation process normally, came up
with the message, computer will now reboot, the computer
shut down, then, comletely nothing!! No video on screen,
no Bios screen or ram check, nothing. has any body any
Ideas?

You have a hardware problem. It's just coincidence that it happened
immediately after installing DX9.
