How do I install a program from a limited account? I know that I have to
invoke an administrative account, but how?

Then you will need to login in Safe Mode and get to the administrator.
How did you change the account to limited? Anyway you will find User
Accounts in Control panel. Open it Select the User and pick Properties,
set the access level.

Once in User Accounts, I don't see how to open an account, "....Select the
User and pick Properties, then set the access level". Remember I am using
"XP'Home".

I havn't changed an "Administrator" account to Limited. I've defined the
"Limited Account". Now, I'm trying to figure out how to use it.

Installing software usually requires use of an account which is a member of
the administrators group. This is one limitation of your "Limited Account"
The best way would be to create another account which you make a member of
the administrators group for use in situations like this.

How do I make it a member of the Administrator Group? As far as I can see
"XP'Home" can't classify Accounts by Group.

Reboot into Safe Mode, log in as Administrator.

Set the limited account to Admin level, reboot back to regular mode.

Log in to the now-admin level user account, install the software, run it
once so it can create whatever folders needed, restart in Safe mode to
Admin, reset the user account back to Limited.

Reboot back into regular mode and into the now-limited user account, and
check the results.

Note that not all software will work with limited accounts. If you run
into problems, you must contact the vendor for guidance.

If you don't know the Administrator password, you will not be able to
do what you want to do. Only logging in as the Administrator account
will you be able to be given privileges to install applications.

EUREKA! I've been trying to figure out for four days how to operate out of
a "Limited" accout, You've shown me how! During this time I've posted 8 to
10 threads on this newsgroup asking how to do it, in various ways. I've
received no answers, only insults

I note that there are several things that don't work as they should, in
particular the "Computer Management Console". This is understandable. But
"Outlook Espress" is one item that should work. Can you help me with
getting it to work?

Another problem is that many if not most (eg. all) programs that do work in
non-Limited mode do not work in Limited Mode. And when you try to uninstall
it there is a problem. When you try to reinstall ot you are met with a
message that says to contact the program vendor.
