Yes, but the method varies:

- If your system partition (drive C:) is a FAT32 partition then
you simply install Win98 on drive D:. You then fix up the
Win2000 boot sector with a couple of simple commands.

- If your system partition is an NTFS partition then you
must first install a third-party boot manager, e.g. XOSL.

What command do I need to fix the boot sector?

U have to insert the W2K and run the installation and choose repair mode and insert emergence disk and repair the boot sector. So before you install win98, create a e-disk first from your W2k.

Should I run the Win2K installation from Win2K, Win98 or from machine boot
up ?

1. Pop in your Win2000 CD
2. Set your BIOS so that the machine boots from the CD drive.
3. Reboot the PC.
4. Select "Repair" when prompted.
5. Select "Command Console" when prompted.
6. When at the command console prompt, type this command:
fixboot
This will restore your Win2000 boot sector.

I don't know what you did - I was not there! If scandisk.exe reports
an error on drive F: then you might have to format drive F:. You
will, of course, lose all information currently stored on it.

Format from win2k ok?

I found I don't need to do any repair from within Win2K.
I can start dual boot straight a way after the Win98 installation.
