Install 2k Pro on new machine

I am attempting to install win 2000pro on a new machine I
built from scratch. ECS motherboard, AMD 2400+, 512mb DDR,
Maxtor 40gig, GeForce 4 64meg, cd/rw, motherboard has a
built in Lan adaptor, usb...etc. My problem is after I
reboot the computer with the win2k disk and the system is
checking my hardware config., the system just
freezes....well I'm not sure it freezes, it just hangs on
that screen. I've disconnected everything but the bare
needs. I should also mention that this is a upgrade
disk....
I am able to install NT 4.0 no problem at all. I have also
attempted to upgrade from NT but it still hangs on that
screen. Also, if I attempt to change the boot OS from the
win2k setup to NT....the system hangs, and so I have to
resort to reinstalling NT to get anything working.
Does anyone know of any issues with this setup? Is there
something I'm missing?
Also, does anyone know why an AMD 2400+ chip would show as
1800+ in the bios, running at 1.5ghz??....or did Fry's rip
me off???
Thanks for any help!!

2400+ go into the bios and set the FSB speed at 133
the freeze would probably be a hardware problem, first I
would do is check all connections etc, reseat RAM,

make sure everything you have is win2K OK

Check BIOS on the MB and update if another newer is
available
