Windows 2k Install problem

Hi,
I have a Gateway Essential 800c that I am trying to install Win 2k on. It
has a 800Mhz Celeron on a Microstar MS-6312 custom Intel 810 chipset
motherboard. The PC originally shipped with Win ME on it. I have a legit
Win 2k w/SP4 autoloader CD under volume licensing.
When I start the install process I get the following message:
Win NT has found only 447k of low memory. 512k of low memory is required to
run Windows NT.
I have set everything in the system bios to bare minimum with no luck.
Gateway provides Windows 2000 drivers for the machine so I assume that it is
able to run it properly.
Any help would be appreicated

How exactly are you trying to load Win2000? Are you lauching
WinME first? Are you booting from the Win2000 CD? Do you
see any messages on the screen before the above error message
appears?

To install Windows 2000, boot directly from the Windows 2000
cdrom or the setup floppy diskettes. Do not attempt to install
from an existing operating system or its command prompt.
