Insistent Windows Media Player for .MP3 files

My client clicked "yes" when opening her first ever
..MP3 file on her WinXP Home PC, thus allowing
Media Player to be used for all her .MP3 files. She
would now like to use RealPlayer instead. In spite
of telling Windows to always use RealPlay.exe for
all .MP3 files, and in spite of running associate.exe
to force the association for .MP3 files to RealPlay.exe,
Windows will still launch MediaPlayer when she double-
clicks an .MP3 file in "My Computer".

How can I force Windows to use RealPlayer instead?

Make sure that the MP3 option under WMPs File Types is unchecked. What
is probably happening is that WMP is "repairing" MP3 play upon opening
up to play another file type.
