inserting pre-recorded narration files into a slide with animation

I wonder if there is any way to insert multiple narration pieces into one
slide as animation is played. Here is an example:

1) Slide #1 appears
2) Animation: 1st line appears.
3) My comment on the 1st line.
4) Animation: 2nd line appears.
5) My comment on the 2nd line.
6) Animation: 3rd line appears.
7) My comment on the 3rd line.
8) Then, Slide #2 appears (and so on)

I hope there is a way to insert narration as each animation occurs. I would
like to use separate files instead of directly recording into PowerPoint.
This is because I need to use a separate application other than PowerPoint to
record my voice (I get static noise when I record with PP, but I do not when
I use this separate voice editing software.)

probably easier than you think!

Use Insert > movies and sounds> sound from file to add the sound files to a
slide choose play auto option

Apply an entrance custom animation to your text etc and expand it with the
little double arrow below and left.

In the custom animation pane you should see each text item (on click) and
each media item (after prev.) Simply drag the media into the correct place in
the sequence.--

Thank you for your help. I still have to work on the details, but at least
know how to insert voice files into animation segments.

I wonder why I get static noise when directly recording voice into
PowerPoint. I do not mean to blame PP for it without knowing exatly what is
causing it, but It would be much easier if I did not have to use the third
party software.

In any event, you saved me.

You mention using a third party software and you don't have static on your
recording. Could you tell me what that is? I'm having problems getting a
really clear recording. Thanks.
