inserting a scanned image document in Word 97

When I insert a scanned image document in WORD 97 and I try to save or print
the document the status bar and the title bar alternate blinking and this
continues until I use CTRL-ALT-DEL to end the task. Why does it do this or
what am I doing wrong.

Suzanne, thanks for the reply but I don't have any anti-virus software
installed on my computer. My operating system is Windows 95 if that makes
any difference.

In that case, have you considered the possibility that you have a
virus, worm, or trojan (or many of them)? If you don't have any
antivirus software and you connect that machine to the Internet,
that's more a probability than a possibility. The operating system
version makes no difference.

There are many good antivirus scanners; some of them are free (or at
least have a free trial version). Use Google to find one and use it.
