We recently replaced a Win2K desktop running Office XP with an XP systems
and Office 2003. The user at this PC often sends a hyperlink to files on our
servers to an employee at a sister company (we have a trust with their
domain, so the sister company employees can map to shares on our server).
When he inserted attachements as hyperlinks on the Office XP system, they
showed up like file://H:\foldername\foldername\filename.ext
Now with Office 2003 they are showing up as
file://\\domain\root\foldername\foldername\filename.ext
The sister company can't access our files via DFS, only by mapped drive
letters. How can we make Outlook use the mapped driver letter (the sister
company uses the same drive letter) instead of the DFS link?
