Outlook 2007 changes hyperlink to file from unc to drive letter

In outlook 2007 when you insert a file as a hyperlink using a unc path but
also have the location mapped as a network drive letter the text that is
displayed points to the drive letter however hovering over the link will show
the unc path. Once you send the message the link changes to the mapped drive
letter. If the recipient does not have the same drive letter mapped they are
unable to open the document.

So how to you prevent outlook 2007 from changing the hyperlink unc path to
the drive letter both in the text displayed and the actual hyperlink itself.

This did not happen in outlook 2003!
