I am inserting a raster image in Excel 2003 on PC. It looks fine on screen
but it prints elongated (by 5% or so it seems). I tried JPEG, PNG, TIFF (all
in RGB) with same results. Page Setup ensures adequate margin. To complicate
things, 2 printers distort the image more and a 3rd printer, less. It could
be a postscript print error but on 3 printers? I also ised different images
with different files with same result. It seems that Excel is struggling to
compensate for something. Thinking that it might help, I went to Format
Picture/Picture tab/Compress button: under Change Resolution checked No
Change; under Options unchecked Compress Pictures but after applying and
okaying the old settings reinstate themselves - another mistery. Thanks!
