Printing embedded pictures

When printing Excel worksheets, I have noticed that the
embedded JPEG images/pictures appear distorted on the
printed page...it's as if the pictures are stretched 6%
horizontally (e.g. faces appear stretched wider). Is
there a way to adjust the aspect ratio of the entire
worksheet for printing purposes so that I do not have to
adjust each image on a worksheet separately and then
readjust how they fit on the page?

Dear Mark,

It is quite possible that your imnges are stretched
because your set up options are set to scale the
worksheet to print on a page. Remember, excel almost
never prints anything at 100% unless you specifically
tell it to do so in the setup.

Thanks. I am using print at 100%. But the printing is
stretching in only the horizontal direction. Try
inserting a picture into an Excel worksheet and printing
it. Doesn't it looked distorted (stretched horizontally)
from the original?

Mark;

Check under page properties and make sure you have not selected "FIT
TO".

If you have, Excel will try to scale the printout vertically and/or
horizontally to make the printout fit the paper.

Um...., no. But, there is one more thing you might try.
After embedding the picture in your spreadsheet, right-
click on it and choose Format Picture. Select the Size
tab. Make sure the Horizontal and Vertical percentages
are the same, and make sure the Lock Aspect Ratio check
box is checked.

I am having a smilar problem with gif's. If you copy and
paste the image, but Select Paste special from the format
menu, you can paste the file Picture (Enhanced
Metafile). The enhanced format doesn't skew when
printed. It works great for most uses, but screws up
transparent backgrounds in Acrobat printing. Maybe that
helps.
