Inserted movie automatically zooms to full screen on a projector

I use PowerPoint2003 on Windows XP home version.

I have inserted 2 movies (.wma files, each with 320x240 resolution) that
both automatically start when you turn to the slide in presentation mode.

There is additional text to the right of the movies that fades in after the
completion of the two movies.


On my laptop screen, I see the full PowerPoint slide - the title, two movies
and addtional text in presentation mode, the movies and text animation work
perfectly.

When I use a projector, the view on my laptop screen stays the same as above
but the view on the projector is only one of the movies zoomed to full screen
(the movie on "top").

I cannot stop the projector showing only one movie in full screen mode when
I need to see all of the information on the PowerPoint slide.

I have selected and deselected the "Zoom to full screen" box in "Edit Movie
Object" and it only changes the view on my laptop screen, the the projector
image.

How can get the projector to stop zooming one of the movies to full screen?

Any information will be appreciated, I have spent a good portion of
yesterday searching on the web for a solution before I came here.

I first saw this kind of behavior (they call it a feature) with nVidia
drivers. Are you using nVidia graphics card or nVidia chips in your graphics
card?

Your video card may not be able to show an overlay on both monitors.
(Common with most video cards.) As video is always an overlay in PowerPoint
this may well be the problem. Try switching monitors and see if that helps.

My video card is an ATI Mobility Radeon 9700, 128 MB. This also happens on
my bosses' laptop, I don't know his video card but I can find out when he is
back from traveling.

Thank you for the help. My computer is a laptop and I don't think I can
switch monitors. It also doesn't help if I can see my laptop screen or if it
is blank when I am using the projector.

Making the projector as a primary monitor is the same as switching monitors.
If you are using XP, right-click on Windows Desktop and select "Properties"
menu item, select "Settings" tab, select the monitor number 2 (that
represents the projector) and place a check against "Use this device as the
primary monitor", click OK button.
