Inserted files and TOC issues

When I add some text using the INCLUDETEXT field I have no problems, but when
I try and combine that with an IF field my TOC doesn't update correctly. It
will give me the headings for the file I inserted plus some extra blank
entries. When I click on them they send me to the top of my inserted text.
Any ideas on what could be going wrong here?

this is the field code for my if statement:

{IF{Dropdown1}="section1" {INCLUDETEXT "C:\\Documents and settings\\My
Documents\\section1.doc" \*MERGEFORMAT}}

The TOC shows a blank skeleton then the correct headings.

Everything works great if I use INCLUDETEXT all alone.

In the end i want to be able to use multiple nested IF statements. Any help
would be great

As far as I can tell, there is nothing wrong with the field code. It
works fine for me.

One thing to consider: Make sure that the TOC field does not have a
heading style applied to it.

Thanks for your input. The TOC still isn't acting right with the conditional
statements. I'm going to keep looking for the answer. If anyone gets ideas
please let me know.

If you put quotation marks around the INCLUDETEXT field, does that help?

No the quotation marks didn't help, good idea though.
If you can come up with anything else it would be a huge help. I'm going to
keep looking for the answer.
Thanks
