insert bootdisk .....

I have xp pro. and lately I am getting a strange problem
when I log on .. occasionally when I turn my pc on I get
the error asking me to insert bootdisk and retry... as if
the OS is trying to boot via CD rather than HD.. how can
I stop this from occuring ????

Your hard drive may be failing. Do this:

First, make a backup of all your data. Then....

Go to the hard driver maker's web site and download their diagnostic
software. Run the diagnostics to see if there are issues with your
hard drive that may cause it to fail. If the hard drive checks out
OK, post again.
