Insert a hyperlink to a file without typing in the file location?

How do I insert a hyperlink to a file in a email without having to manually
type in the location of the file.
Currently, if I got to insert, hyperlink - I have to select file, then type
or copy the file path in.
In a older version of outlook, I could insert a hyperlink by selecting the
file location through a explorer type enviroment.

Mandy - I guess you have either 2002 or 2003 (please post your version)

File attach, highlight the file, (do not dbl click it) drop down the arrow
beside the Insert box, select as Hyperlink (or if you have an old version as
Shortcut).

Hi Judy,
Thanks for your response.
I have outlook 2003. When I followed your instructions, beside the insert
box I did not have an option "hyperlink".
I instead only had three options:
Insert
Insert as Text
Insert as Attachment

Any ideas?

Yep - this only works if the email message is set to Rich Text (not HTML or
Plain Text) Do that and the extra option of insert as Hyperlink will show
up.

Sorry I missed a step for you!!
