input from a dvd

I have a dvd writer that I initially put my videos from my
camera to dvd. I'm now trying to get the videos into the
computer. The dvd seems to have the various clips stored
as VOB files. How can I convert them to something I can
edit with movie maker?

There are a number of utilities that can do this. You should visit
somewhere like DVDR Help (Link on my site) for the best advice on which to
use.
