Mixed videos and pictures published to DVD problem

I have created a movie that has several video clips and several photos
at the end. If I publish to .wmv file, everything is fine. When I
publish to DVD the photos are gone. Do the pictures have to be a
certain size for DVD publishing? Or is Movie Maker / DVD maker suppose
to handle the conversion? I have even tried making a DVD of the .wmv
file that is fine and the photos still disappear on the DVD.

OK...you Published your Movie Maker project
to the .wmv video format. Does it play correctly
in Windows Media Player 11?

What is the duration of the .wmv file? Did you
use lots of transitions and effects? Sometimes
file complexity causes issues.

It may be worth a try to split the project into two
or more segments...saving each as a separate
..wmv file. Then when you import the group of
..wmv files into DVD Maker each one will be a
Scene (Chapter).

Plays flawlessly in WMP 11. All clips and photos are there. Photos
have 5 second duration.

About 45 min. No effects; about 5 transitions.

I'm thinking this is a photo size problem going to DVD as they are 2048
x 1232 pixels. I'm trying with 676 x 407 (reduced 33 percent in Paint)
size right now. Just tried publishing those to DVD via moviemaker and
that worked fine for about a 10 photo try. Just photos; no movie clips.
I'll finish resizing the rest of the photos and try again with the movie
clips in moviemaker. If that doesn't work, I will try what you suggest.

Yes...please let us know the result.

Since Movie Maker resizes the photos anyway...I'm
thinking that splitting the project in two would be better
than reducing the resolution of the photos. And...you
might have to remove the transitions.

Have a look at the following article:

Resizing the photos smaller still did not work trying to make a DVD from
moviemaker. Your method did work. Thanks.

Took the photos out of of the movie project and then made a separate wmv
file for them. Then added the wmv photo file when getting to the DVD
maker from moviemaker for the movie project. That was with the smaller
resized photos. Haven't tried the bigger photos yet.

The resolution of the photos doesn't matter much; the wife took them.
LOL! But they look OK playing on the DVD at the reduced size anywise.
Didn't have to remove the transitions as splitting the project into two
parts for DVD maker worked fine.

Must be a bug in moviemaker that everyone missed. Weird that it works
fine when making a wmv file of the whole thing. And also strange that
making a DVD of the complete wmv file takes the photos back out. ???

You're welcome and thanks for the update.

I don't know about bugs...I just try to find a
way to complete a project.
