What is this folder and all the file inside C:\WINDOWS\Registration
Thanks

In Windows 2000 you should have a C:\WINNT folder nor a C:\Windows folder.

Hmm...I undestood that even upgrades will install into C:\WINNT. For example updating Windows 2000 to Windows 2003 will install in C:\Windows not C:\WINNT. I assumed that was the behavior of upgrades. No? If not do you know how to make sure Windows 2000 updated to Windows 2003 will use C:\WINNT as %windir%? Thanks.

Upgrading (from NT to 2000 anyway) will not change the directory
structure. In particular upgrading Windows NT 4.0 to Windows 2000 or
XP will result in the profiles being found in C:\winnt\profiles not in
C:\Documents and Settings. Also %windir% is not changed.

I found this out by accident - I did find a mention on
www.microsoft.com, but I can't find it again, sorry.

I don't know whether or not an upgrade to Win2003 will at any stage
prompt you for the %windir% directory.

Cheers,

Cliff

The files stored here are used for the various COM+ applications that you
have installed on your system.
(It's not the work of spyware, if that's what you're getting at.)
