so far a trojan virus has gotten onto my comp. through
the temporary internet folder twice. How can I keep it
from happening a third time?

try another way, and use immunize in spybot.
don't use internet explorer as the browser hijackers are
coded for it. wild tangent is spyware.

spybot: safer-networking.org ,,,,,,,,ad-aware:
lavasoftusa.com ,,,,,, safe to remove spyware with.

don't "click on install this to run" when you visit a web
site and you won't get browser hijackers

mozilla.org for browser 'firefox' .
and update you antivirus daily.. grisoft.com for free
antivirus.

Hmm,

Everything you look at (more or less) goes into your temporary internet
folder so the presence of something there is not generally a problem.

I suspect you have seen your Antivirus software shouting "Virus / Trojan
JS.Loop found in temporary internet files" or something similar. During a
scan maybe?

1 It's quite likely to be a false positive. What's the Antivirus, what was
the Trojan name it gave and is the AV up to date with definitions?

2 Just "Being there" is not a problem. Even if it's not a false positive
it's not doing anything unless it's become installed, and it won't be the
temporary copy you have to worry about then.

What AV are you using and what name did it give?

Charlie
