Individual windows won't hold

I don't even know what this is called, so I can't search for an answer. In
Outlook especially this happens, also during games. The window I am viewing
(using or typing a message or playing a game) "pops" off. In other words,
the dark blue strip at the top that shows the window is active, becomes light
blue and the window becomes inactive - for no apparent reason. When I am
writing, it happens frequently and I have to then click the window back on
and relocate the cursor. In games, the screen goes to black and I have to
double click to get the game screen back up. Is there a diagnostic I can run
or something I can do. Or, could you tell me what this is called so I can
research it? I am no techie, so simple is very important. Thanks to anyone
who can help me.

Sounds like spyware or a virus. I would try scanning you hard drive for
viruses and for spyware. Microsoft has a very nice spyware remover that is
free. Go to microsoft's website and search for spyware. It is probably the
first link that pops up. I would give that a try, otherwise it sounds kind
of flakey.

Just a thought, this happens to me sometimes. Do you have one of those mice
that is a flat square below your keyboard (pointing device)?

I have one and what you describe happens a lot when I accidentally touch the
mouse while typing. If the curser is set to another window then the one I'm
working in will deactivate.
