index page (more info)

I want to update my index page. When I look at the 2
panes (the left one with the pages on my computer and the
right one with the files on the server)I see besides the
index page on the left of the title, a question mark and
on the right of the title ''conflict'' I just realized
that the title on my computer is ''index.htm'' and the
title in the server is ''index.html''. Is it why there is
a conflict?? What should I do? I did not try to publish.
I would prefer to fix that thing before, unless there is
no problem to keep it that way. thanks for your help

The "Conflict" icon means that the version of index.htm on
the server has changed since you last synchronized with
it. For example:

1. You publish the index.htm page on Monday. The versions
are then the same.
2. On Tuesday, someone else changes the index.htm file on
the server.
3. On Wednesday, you change your copy of the index.htm
file.
4. On Thursday you publish and get a Conflict message.
This indicates that the version on the server contains
changes that your version does not.

The normal solution is to inspect both versions and decide
which one to keep. Or, you may choose to incorporate the
changes that were made on the server into your version,
and then publish the resulting file.
