Two INDEX files when Home Created ???

After designing and saving off my Web site, I noted that there are two INDEX
files. One is called INDEX.HTM and the other is INDEX.HTML ... The main
HOME Page is associated with the INDEX.HTM file (has a "house" icon on it.)

Why are there 2 of these INDEX files and can I delete the one that does not
have the House Icon? Thanks in advance.

You have to determine which file name is required by your web host as the default document.

In the "folder view" mode, select the file, press the Delete key.....in your
local web, and repeat the process on the remote web, or just delete (them)
from the local/remote file lists in the "publish" window in Frontpage.

Be aware though, that your host might use various file names for the default
home page

index (.asp, .html, .htm, .php etc)
default (.asp, .html, .htm, .php etc)
home (.asp, .html, .htm, .php etc)
etc

Through my control panel, I can specify this myself. It has at least all
the above, and it takes the one at the top of the list as the "home" page

eg

index.html
default.asp
home.php.

It would use "index.html" if the others were not present. if default.asp
was there and index.html wasn't it would use default.asp.

If all three were there, it seems it chooses the one at the top of the list.
(at least, on my host, index.html would override default.asp and home.php as
the home page file).
