When I publish using FP 2002, all the pages go to the web, including the
main page which is Index.htm. This has worked fine for a long time. All of
the sudden now when I post it updates the Index.htm but there is also an
Index.html on the web server that I'm seeing on the web. That appears to be
the file that you see when you go to the url. Where is the "index.html"
file coming from when the files on my computer show only the "index.htm"?
The icon on my Index file also look deferent than all the other htm files.
It has a house in the icon and the regular htm files show an arrow pointing
up and left. Any help out there?

Rename index.htm on your computer to index.html and let FrontPage update hyperlinks when
prompted.
Then publish your web.
Then open the remote web and delete index.htm if it exists.

index.html is the default document your server needs for the home page.
When publishing, FrontPage checks the server to see what the default document needs to be
and then renames it accordingly.
That is how you wound up with index.html on the server.
This is normal behavior.
