Index Error...Norton Disk Doctor...CHKDSK...Win XP Pro

Steve

When I run Norton Disk Doctor without "Fix Errors," I get
everything "OK," except "Indexes," which states "NOT
FIXED."

When I run Disk Doctor with "Fix Errors" the program
starts and I get:
"Norton Disk Doctor - Testing Drive C:
The operating system, or another process, currently has
exclusive access to this drive, or some of its files.
Norton Disk Doctor cannot continue with a repair under
these conditions. A repair can be scheduled to occur the
next time you restart the system. Norton Disk Doctor can
still diagnose this drive if 'fix errors' is unchecked.
Would you like to schedule a repair?
No ( ) Yes ( )"

I schedule the repair, reboot and CHKDSK does its thing,
but when I get back into Windows and run Norton Disk
Doctor again I get the same note: "Indexes..NOT FIXED"

Is there something wrong with my indexing? Or, with
Norton Disk Doctor, or with my Dell computer with Win XP
Professional?

I believe the problem is inherint in norton disk doctor,
which i believe runs 'xp scan utility' INSTEAD of the disk
doctor which I personally believe is 'just fine' since I
personally feel they do the same thing anyway and i'd
rather trust microsoft to do a scan on a microsoft
operating system.
