Security Descriptor error

Running Disk Doctor in Norton Systemworks 2003/5 I get
errors relating to Seurity Descriptors. I schedule a
CHKDSK on the drive and this runs but does not fix the
reported problem.

Since the errors first occured my disk drive has become
slow and I can no longer capture video streams to disc for
longer than a few seconds from my camcorder.

I have run CHKDSK /f, /x and /r and none of these correct
the problem. I have defragged, optimsed and checked and
fixed using every concievable tool. The error still
persists.

Any one come across this before are there any other tools
which can fix these errors or is chkdsk the only one.

What does check disk report? If you didn't catch the
report you can retrieve it with event viewer \application
under the event source heading winlogon. Need help? Open
help and support and search for "event viewer"

If that is clean, I would run a virus scan.

After re-reading you message I would download from your
hard drive manafacture the diagnostic utility for your
hard drive.

Event logs shows DCOM errors "10005" in the system log
owner is system.

VSS error no number and event system occur in the
applications log.

I will look to get the utils for the drive and post any
updates. thanks for the response.
