Incorrent Path for PST

I "upgraded" from XP to Vista a while back and when I did, Outlook 2003 would
no longer locate my pst file. I just upgraded to 2007, thinking it would fix
the problem, but still the file crashes.

Outlook gives me the option to find the pst file 3 times then tells me the
path is incorrect and shuts down. Is there something I can do to start the
thing from scratch? I want to link it up with my exchange server for work but
it won't let me past that pst warning.

Thanks in advance for any help on this issue.

If you're connecting to an Exchange server, why do you think you need a PST?

Justin,

Did you try using "File" > "Open" > "Outlook Data File..." and manually
navigate your way to the 'default' location of the .PST(s) or are you using a
built-in Wizard to Import/Migrate the .PST files?

The .PST file is locally stored and does not (technically speaking) link up
to your Exchange Server so much as it links to the representation of your
Microsoft Exchange Server account as it appears within Outlook (ex. 2003).

For users in "Cached Exchange Mode" I explain the .OST (Offline STorage)
file as a "mirror" of the information in your Exchange Account/Profile on the
server, but you should realize there are (to the best of my knowledge) at
least two (2) distinct parts to your Account. In my understanding part one
is the Username entry in "Active Directory" and part two is the "Mailbox" or
files residing on the Exchange Server.

(don't shoot me if this explanation are not 100% accurate or all inclusive)

The directory path to the 'default' location for .PSTs is:
C:\Documents and Settings\<user_name>\Local Settings\Application
Data\Microsoft\Outlook

Unless Microsoft has changed it in the mass migration to Office 2007.

I hope this information is helpful!
