Hi,

I am using an old program (99) and when tried to run it on
XP, i have the following message:
virtual C++ runtime library error windows XP
then the name of the .exe file with a message specifying
an abnormal termination.

I couldn't find any help on the net.

Has anybody a clue on that.
Best regards

Since you didn't tell us the name of the program, you can't get much
help here either. Try and run the program under Compatibility Mode.
Look in XP's Help & Support for information on Compatibility Mode. If
the program won't run under CM, then it won't run in XP - a completely
different operating system from the one the program was originally
written for. Find a newer program that will do what you want or keep an
older computer around running the older os for this program.
