Incoming Mail Alert when Outlook not running

Is it possible to be alerted to incoming mail even when Outlook 2003 isn't
running? My wife tends to forget to open it when she starts her computer and
then complains that she isn't alerted to incoming mail (like she was with
Incredimail!) ... but apart from putting Outlook in the startup group, is
there an easier way?

Thanks

Colin

If you're getting your mail from a POP3 mailbox there are loads of free POP3
mailbox checkers that you can use. Check your favorite freeware/shareware
site

Hmmm, that limits things a bunch. I think there's a notification tool for
Exchange out there somewhere. I'll dig around a bit later.
