Hi,
I have a big problem, incoming email won't stop from the same sender(email
notifications etc,)...and will not let regular email come in...

Please help

Message number 5 could not be retrieved. Account: 'pop-server.twcny.rr.com',
Server: 'pop-server.twcny.rr.com', Protocol: POP3, Server Response: '', Port:
110, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 0x800CCC90, Error Number: 0x800420CD

This is the message that I am getting:

That's because you have a 'stuck' email on the server, which is not
allowing the total download to complete. When a download doesn't
complete, the server doesn't delete any downloaded messages.
On subsequent downloads, the same message(s) will download.

I have had the same problem for months. Isn't there a more permanent fix
other than having to delete the messages?

i moved from outbox to draft but it is the same. i get the following
messages it was working at one time and then quite plze help thanks
Richard

The message could not be sent. The authentication setting might not be
correct for your outgoing e-mail [SMTP] server. For help solving this
problem, go to Help, search for "Troubleshoot Windows Mail", and read the
"I'm having problems sending e-mail" section. If you need help determining
the proper server settings, please contact your e-mail service provider.

The rejected e-mail address was '(e-mail address removed)'. Subject 'yrdy',
Account: 'pop.att.yahoo.com', Server: 'smtp.att.yahoo.com', Protocol: SMTP,
Server Response: '530 authentication required - for help go to
http://help.yahoo.com/help/us/sbc/dsl/mail/pop/pop-11.html', Port: 465,
Secure(SSL): Yes, Server Error: 530, Error Number: 0x800CCC78

Email scanning should be turned off in any anti-virus. Also exclude EML
files from the scan. It provides no protection not provided by the regular
resident protection.
Besides that, McAfee and Norton are not compatible with Windows Mail and
Outlook Express and should be uninstalled. The latest version of Trend's
anti-virus seems to be causing problems too.

It remains to be seen if you have the exact same problem.
Right-click on the error message, copy, then paste it into a reply here.
We can't do much troubleshooting without that complete error message.

Make sure you have send authentication enabled.
Go to Tools, Accounts, select that account, Properties, Servers.
The box for "My server requires authentication must be checked.
