IncludeText field with formula within it

I want to set up a merge template that:
1. Has an IncludeText field;
2. The source text itself is a table with a formula field within it; and
3. Once the template is merged the includetext field can be made
'permanent'(?) within the merged document with the formula field being
retained, enabling the user to complete the table and calculate the total?

Can't be done! The nearest you will get is to insert a Word Object as a
link. Double click the linked object to open the document containing the
calculation. Make the changes there then update the link.
