Inbox Repair Tool

Upon startup of outlook, I receive an error message stating that there are
send/receive errors. When I attempt to open an old email already in my inbox,
I receive a message to use the Inbox Repair Tool (Scanpst.exe). I have
located the file and the help instructions from MSoft but still no luck.
Please help me.

Does this mean you have run scanpst on your pst?
and did you run it on the correct pst?
It found no errors or was unable to correct errors?
The size of the pst and version of OL?

How did you run the scanpst.exe?

Its usual home is %CommonProgramFiles%\system\MSMAPI\1033 for English
installations of Outlook or Office.

I get to that point and see the scan file, but it asks which file I want to
scan. It shows all my personal folders, but shouldn't it show the an e-mail,
which is wherethe problem is?

All of your Outlook data, Contacts, Tasks, mail, Calendar, etc., is stored
in the same file - your Personal Folders file, or PST. Browse to that file,
select it, and click OK.

where is the inbo repair tool scanpst

Depends on the language of Office's installation. For a US English
installtion, find it at
%CommonProgramFiles%\System\MSMAPI\1033\SCANPST.EXE

The PSTs are located right where you told Outlook to locate them when you
created them. If you don't remember, use the Data Files button on the Mail
applet in Control Panel to look.
